Anhalt, Duchy. A Life Saving Medal, Miniature, C.1900 Hold Metal posts on either side(Verdienstmedaille fr Rettung aus Gefahr Miniatur) Instituted 8 May 1853. A miniature circular medal, the obverse bears a right facing bear walking on a wall, circumscribed with FUERCHTE GOTT UND BEFOLGE SEINE BEFEHLE (SAVE GOD AND OBEY HIS COMMANDS), the reverse centre is inscribed with FR RETTUNG AUS GEFAHR (FOR RESCUE FROM DANGER), encompassed by an oak leaf wreath, with loop for suspension, measuring 14. 45 mm (w) x 16. 98 mm (h), very fine.
